Sunrise over Sunchang

Morning light reaches the dewy leaves of cabbage and pepper plants which seem to fill every garden in the area

We arrived in Sunchang late at night by the careful navigation of Jangsun, student of the New Message and our host in South Korea, who traced our route from Seoul to Sunchang in the south along 200 miles of empty highways and dark side roads. The following dawn revealed a quiet village slowly awakening in the cool morning light. Mist drifted through the bamboo forest edging this small farming hamlet in the far south of South Korea and dew hung on the leaves and stalks of cabbage, pepper and rice fields which spread into the valley beyond.
